Mom’s Spaghetti Sauce
My mom found this recipe a few years back and I haven’t used sauce from a jar since. This will make all your Italian dish’s taste Great. Try it one time and you’ll see.

INGREDIENTS
- 2 cups sliced Mushrooms
- 1/4 cup diced Onion
- 1 Garlic Clove, minced
- Olive Oil
- 1 (16oz) can diced tomato (w/basil, garlic & oregano)
- 2 (16oz) cans Tomato Sauce
- 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
- 2 tsp Oregano
- 1 tbsp Ground Thyme
- 1/2 tsp salt
Directions
- In sauce pan over medium heat, saute minced garlic with olive oil.
- Raise temp to medium high and add mushrooms & onions, then saute.
- Add dice tomatoes along with herbs & seasoning and cook for several minutes over high heat until most the liquid has been reduced.
- Stir in tomato sauce, then cover and reduce heat.. stirring every few minutes until ready to serve.

NOTES:
- This is the base sauce for all of my Italian dishes that have a Tomato sauce.
- I like this served with meatballs but you can easy add whatever you like..ground beef, Italian sausage, stuffed ravioli…etc
