Mom’s Spaghetti Sauce

 

 

My mom found this recipe a few years back and I haven’t used sauce from a jar since. This will make all your Italian dish’s taste Great. Try it one time and you’ll see.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups sliced Mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup diced Onion
  • 1 Garlic Clove, minced
  • Olive Oil
  • 1 (16oz) can diced tomato (w/basil, garlic & oregano)
  • 2 (16oz) cans Tomato Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 tsp Oregano
  • 1 tbsp Ground Thyme
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Directions

  1. In sauce pan over medium heat, saute minced garlic with olive oil.
  2. Raise temp to medium high and add mushrooms & onions, then saute.
  3. Add dice tomatoes along with herbs & seasoning and cook for several minutes over high heat until most the liquid has been reduced.
  4. Stir in tomato sauce, then cover and reduce heat.. stirring every few minutes until ready to serve.
  5. Now Eat!

NOTES:

  • This is the base sauce for all of my Italian dishes that have a Tomato sauce.
  • I like this served with meatballs but you can easy add whatever you like..ground beef, Italian sausage, stuffed ravioli…etc
